SPRING GARDENS BRIGHTON

The picture was thought to be taken in Spring Gardens, Brighton which was demolished between 1937 and 1945. This was also the home of Southern Purlishing  before the presses moved to Robert Street, Brighton.

According to wikepedia: The 'Drill Hall' building (back centre) was designed by Edmund Scott as the headquarters of the 1st Volunteer Battalion, The Royal Sussex Regimentand was completed in 1890. This unit evolved to become the 6th (Cyclist) Battalion, The Royal Sussex Regiment but moved to Montpelier ;in Brighton before the First World War.
